Company Brno new station development revealed its plan to build stores at Nové sady st., near the current train station.
Renowed architect Petr Hrůša, hired for creating a plan of the area, wants to accompany the commercial buildings with loft apartments. However, it is still not clear whether the train station finally moves to new location or not. If it stays in the historical centre, rails next to the re-urbanized area would be still used and such flats would be less attractive.
The place called “Malá Amerika” (“small America”) is currently used as a warehouse and cheap market-hall. Its dominant is a hundred years old hall made of red bricks:
