Unique exhibition “Prehistoric Art in Central Europe” shows one more piece of paleolitic art: the third statue of Venus from Dolní Věstonice.

The artifact was stored in “Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum Mainz” for almost 40 years, without anybody noticing its great historical value.

“The third Venus of Dolní Věstonice” will make a good company to the original statue of “Venus of Dolní Věstonice”, found in 1925, and to the only copy of the lost “second Venus of Dolní Věstonice”.

The exhibiton “Prehistoric Art in Central Europe” takes place in Anthropos museum and runs until June 30.

I visited your wonderful Pavillion in 1997 and took a photo of your woolly mammoth, unfortunately my camera wasn’t very good and the photo is fading is there some way I can get a photo so I can show my grand children. Even in 1997 I was amazed by the wonderful displays and information although I can’t read Czech lucky for me my partner is from Brno (now living in Australia) so he could translate it all for me.
Kind regards
