by Michal Kašpárek on May 20, 2009

Maybe you are looking for an apartment, maybe you just want to learn something new about the town you’re living in: new series “District guides” will tell you everything you need to know about districts, quarters and communities in Brno.

Quick facts

The western part of Kohoutovice is the highest-elevated place in Brno. Eastern-oriented flats have a perfect view of the town.

Quarter Kohoutovice (“rooster village”) is located on the hills above Svratka river in the western part of the town. There are two neighborhoods: an old village and newer blocks of flats. The borough has 13,326 inhabitants.

Pros

  • The quarter is surrounded by beautiful woods with paths for hiking and biking
  • No traffic jams, healthy environment.
  • Clean, safe part of the town.

Cons

  • Parking issues in some places (esp. around Voříškova st.).
  • No culture venues and no night life.

This is an awesome feature idea. I’m moving to Brno at the end of July and it is not easy to find out about the different parts of town. Thanks!

I’m so glad you find the series awesome. I’ve never experienced moving to another town or counry in my life, so if you have any feature requests, I would love to hear about it.
