Libor Zábranský, the owner of hockey club Kometa Brno, has bought “Extraliga” licence from the club Znojemští Orli for CZK 25M (€1M). This means that Brno is returning to the highest-level czech ice hockey league after 13 years.

Kometa Brno has been playing in Starobrno (AKA Rondo) Arena since 1990s. The club has a huge fan base and average paid attendance above 5,000 visitors.

It is rumored that Jiří Dopita, 40-year-old Olympic winner from Nagano, 1998, would be the biggest star in the next season.
